Mother/daughter time

My daughter turned 16 recently.

We are very close, but she has never really gotten into stamping with me. She is uber busy with her friends, boyfriend, & teenager stuff (also called high school drama).

Once in a while, she will make a scrapbook page for a shadowbox or a collage of pictures. But, always asking for my help and direction, suggestions, and ideas. So, the interest is there, she just did not think she had the creativity to stamp.

Ha ha ha.....I said the same thing nearly 5 years ago.

I have not stamped or created anything in weeks. Just too busy!

But, what I did want to get a head start on was the cards to send out announcing our move, with our new address. In my usual procrastinating way....I have put this off for quite a while....
So, the other day I was out shopping in Topeka and I found a box of pre-cut and folded 4.25x5.50 cards with envelopes by Die Cuts With A View. There are 50 cards and envies, all printed DCVW quality cardstock, 10 different prints, 5 of each print. They all coordinate with the DCWV Mat Stacks papers! And the best news, I got them with a 50% off coupon at the register, so they only cost $4.99!

I started creating some cards the other night, when my daughter asked to help too. My first thought....Guess summer vacation has already bored her out of her mind!

We have now set up my dining room table AKA taken over the table and dining room...so we can stamp and create day and night...whenever we have time in between baseball games and errands.

She has really gotten into it! She is now saying to me "Can we go home and stamp?" or "After dinner, can we stamp?"

Ahhhhh...such sweet words.....

Here is one card we made together so far

She stamped and colored in the image, I put the card together.

Aren't these DCWV cards too stinkin' cute?!?!

We are making each card different too. No two are the same.

So, yesterday was my birthday. My daughter comes up to me singing and hands me a card

She was so proud she made it all by herself without my help in any way!

I just had to show it off here. ;)

So, since the "We've Moved" set of cards will be the last things I will be making before I pack up my stamping supplies before the move, I will show the "We've Moved" cards here on my blog over the next few weeks up until we leave.

Come back soon! She and I have had some really cute ideas!

**Pictures of the cards are taken with my scanner. The colors are a little off from *in person*. I usually take photos with my digital camera, but it is out of town with my husband while he is job & house hunting in San Antonio...(Tis why we have taken over the dining room!!) ;)

The 15 month wait is over.....

My husband is home!
He arrived on Thursday May 8th.
This is the banner we made that we hung in our garage. The four of us signed the bottom to add the personal touch.

The kids wore their T-shirts I had made, here is a look at the back of the shirts....

and this was one of the first pictures I got to take after we were all reunited....

Nope, it is not possible to get all of them to smile at once! Especially a 9 year old!

I can not begin to tell you how happy we all are to have him home again.

Welcome Home!! We Missed You!!

As promised....My purse!

I promised you would see it soon...here it is!

Here is the layout scanned...

This layout was so much fun!

The colors in the papers worked well with my pictures.

The other side of the purse has the soccer layout I previously posted.

I had some left over scraps, so I made this card

Both just get you thinking Summertime!!!

Not your typical Soccer Mom.......

But, I do live at the soccer fields for 2 months in the Spring & Fall each year.
Soccer all but consumes our day to day existence right now. Soccer is scheduled 5 days a week between my two sons. Add the freakish Kansas weather and rain, it really is more like 6 days....or "sit tight, we will let you know when we can get this game going/scheduled..."
I love soccer season.
I can be outside, and the noise from the other cheering parents isnt as loud as, let's say, a gym during a basketball game. Instant migrane with the flourescent lighting, perfumes and noise. Ack!
Another reason is I can sit in my own chair, and not the hard, cold as a meat freezer bleachers with no back support.
My chair has a cup holder for my drink. I can bring my coffee with me, or a bottle of water, and it is right at my finger tips! And I didnt have to pay $1.50 for it, or have to dump it out/leave it in the car to walk into a gym to watch my son's game.
I love soccer season.
I can work on turning my pasty white skin a shade of tan. If I am not careful, like 2 weeks ago, I may burn. Ooops! But, after the cold icy Winter, I kinda liked having a sunburn!
Where else, at the start of a 10:00am game, will you need to wear shorts and be bundled up in your parka and blankets because at 10, it is 40 degrees, and by the end of the games, it is 75-80 out?
Where else but the soccer fields can you see the most adorable dogs? Right next to the signs that says "No pets or dogs allowed on the soccer fields"
My favorite....
Watch how many goals are scored when a Apache or Chinook flies overhead. There is not a single goalie paying attention.
Funny, funny moments!!
This page is a sneak preview to my blog readers...
I created it with some special papers designed by a very special and talented lady.
I will be showing another layout and more in a few days!!
