Love Printed Papers?

Of course you do!

Well, I have two paper lines to show you that I have played with recently. All designed by ASB's
Anne & Creative Dreams.

Whether you are a paper & glue papercrafter or a digi-scrapper, these two lines fit both worlds!

American Made

The American Made paper line is one of the first complete masculine lines of paper I have ever seen. Yet, they still have enough *girlie* in them so that they can be used for almost any project.

Here, in my simple layout for the ASB Design Team, I just stamped leaves from the TAC set Pretty Posies in Palette Cognac and Burnt Umber, stamping off once before stamping onto the right side edge of the paper.

To give some depth to the top and bottom leaves, I made sure I only stamped off half the ink, so that half the stamp would be darker. I wanted to *match* the shading of my son and husband's hair in the picture.

I added words from another set by The Angel Company, Live Inspired. I stamped them in Palette inks also.

This picture is priceless to me. Thank you Anne for creating such beautiful papers that I just had to put this picture on.

Vintage Blush

How stunning is this paper?!?!

When I pulled it out of the envelope, my head immediately filled with ideas. You should see the rest of the collection! WOW!

Sympathy cards are sometimes the hardest cards to create. Whether you need to make one for someone that asked, or for someone you were close to....they just are never easy to create.

You can do everything and anything with this paper line!

Vintage Blush is a collection of whimsy florals and swirls, with a gingham pattern. There are pinks, blues, patterns and *solids*.

Here I used Bazzill blue cardstock as a base for the card. Matched perfectly! The punched oval is a piece of Matchmakers light blue. That matched perfectly too! I was so impressed that both of my favorite cardstock lines matched!

Inside the oval I stamped a swirl from the set Flourishes (TAC) using Palette Seascape ink. Then, using Charcoal Palette ink, I stamped the saying from the set With Sympathy (TAC). Still using the Charcoal ink, I used a sponge dauber and I lightly sponged the edges of the oval.

I even whipped out and dusted off my decorative scissors for this card!

Right now, all the paper designs are only available to purchase on download &/or print on cardstock. But, there is talk of printing the papers and selling them too if there is enough interest. So if you love them, please Let Anne know!>

A Little Bit of This & That

I really hope I get the oooommmmpphh to create today. I need to. I have to. I get down in the dumps depressed if I don't get time to play. Besides, you all need something new to look at here once in a while, huh?

But in the meanwhile, I thought I would post some information to some of the questions I have been asked here on my blog and in emails recently.

First and foremost, and I think most important to cover, of course, is my husband coming home. I have received so many cheerful emails and comments! Thank you!

We are still waiting......the countdown of days is in the teens!

I will share a little tidbit of a secret I have planned with the kids for him. I had T-shirts made for the Homecoming Ceremony. They picked one picture of my husband, and we had that put on the shirts. They each chose what to *say* on the shirt, and what font was to be used.

I picked them up yesterday. OMG! I wanted to cry! (I know, I know, those who know me well are saying.....Jenn, that doesn't take much. ha ha ha!)

Anyhoo....He will not have any problem picking us out of the crowd. They will really look so great, and let Dad know how much he is loved.

Oh, yes, yup...there will be TONS of pictures to share!!!

After I posted about how I manage my patience issues with my tote full of cardstock, stamps, ink, etc., I was asked about the case I store my Prismacolor pencils in.

Mine is a black leather zipper case, and they do make them for 12, 24, 72 and 120 pencils, in black & brown leather. I bought my 120 pencil case at Hobby Lobby with a 40% coupon. I had to travel to a couple HL's to find it, but it was worth the hunt!

I have included a link to Dick Blick Art Materials. You can see what they look like.

The Memory Purse. Yes, I did buy one! And, I did make pages to insert in it!

Why haven't I shown you, you ask?

Well, stay tuned! The awesome papers I used are part of a project assigned to ASB's Design Team!

Wanna sneak peek? Well, there are 2 ways to peek!

1) Come to Fort Riley.... I have been using the purse!
2) Look here for a small glimpse of it!

Counting Down The Days......

This has always been my absolute favorite stamp set, hands down, by any stamp company out there.

The detail of the images, and the meaning it brings, especially to a military family, is by far beyond special.

When Stampin' Up! retired it, I was kind of surprised. But, it made it more special too.

Then they came out with The Free and The Brave.
Another set that just touched the hearts of military families all around the world.

Both of these cards are being sent to my husband this week.

It has been a long 14 months apart. I thought a card from me, and one from the kids would keep his spirits up too. They will be the last pieces of mail we send before he comes home.

These images helped remind me how important his mission is,

and how short 1 more month really is!!

Soooooooooo, how has everyone been?? I hope good.
As you can tell by the date of my last post here, life has gotten in my way a bit. No time to play. I did clean my stamp area!!

I did get a chance to make a card though.
There is a quirky little story behind it, and I will tell you the story first....

My 15 year old daughter is turning 16 soon. Sweet Sixteen. (yeah, I know, UGH!, lol)
For her birthday, she wanted a plane ticket to go visit family in New Hampshire.

Well, due to the airline being rediculous (that's me being polite), she misses her connecting flight in Charlotte NC, and ends up spending a night alone there! I was out of my mind nuts! I start making calls to people, as she is hysterically crying begging me to go get her!
No one in my family has ever been to Charlotte NC, and/or knows anybody there to call.

My daughter was fine, ended up in a nice hotel with food (all paid for of course by the airline). She even bought a North Carolina hoodie at the airport!
She got to NH the next afternoon.

That evening, I sat down at my stamp table to color. I just needed to calm down and relax. A few minutes later, the phone rings. It is a very nice lady who is interested in the TAC stamp set Tickled Pink, and she found this blog searching Google with the set name. We got to chatting about our lives and such, and I ask her where she is located.....
Charlotte, North Carolina.
How about that?!
So, she ordered the set, and right after I got off the phone, I made her this card and dropped it in the mail the next day.

They say it's a small world out there...especially in the stamping world.
