Counting Down The Days......

This has always been my absolute favorite stamp set, hands down, by any stamp company out there.

The detail of the images, and the meaning it brings, especially to a military family, is by far beyond special.

When Stampin' Up! retired it, I was kind of surprised. But, it made it more special too.

Then they came out with The Free and The Brave.
Another set that just touched the hearts of military families all around the world.

Both of these cards are being sent to my husband this week.

It has been a long 14 months apart. I thought a card from me, and one from the kids would keep his spirits up too. They will be the last pieces of mail we send before he comes home.

These images helped remind me how important his mission is,

and how short 1 more month really is!!

Godspeed card:

Stamp set: Godspeed by Stampin' Up!

Papers: Patterned paper by Die Cuts With A View (DCWV), Bazzill brown, TAC black, SU! Shimmery White

Embellishments: White organdy ribbon by SU!, loopy brads

Image stamped with Palette Noir, and colored with blender pen and chalks.

DTP (Direct To Paper) around edges of white cardstock with Palette colors Burnt Umber, Burnt Sienna & Cognac.

I used an edge distresser tool on the edges of the patterned paper

The Free and The Brave Card:

Stamp sets: The Free and The Brave & Wonderful Words II by Stampin' Up!

Papers: Patterned paper by DCWV, TAC white, Bazzill brown & white

Embellishments: White brad stickers, chipboard & paper *hinges* die cut with the Big Shot

Image and sentiment stamped in Palette Burnt Umber, and colored with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol.
